Select multiple PDFs to combine
Last updated: June 2026
Combine two or more PDF documents into a single file. Simply drop your PDFs, arrange the order, and click Merge. The merged PDF downloads instantly.
Unlike most PDF tools, ToolPix never uploads your files to a server. All PDF merging runs locally in your browser using the pdf-lib library. Your documents stay on your device — ideal for confidential contracts, financial statements, medical records, or any sensitive documents you would rather not send to a third-party server.
Combining multiple invoices into a single PDF for record-keeping. Merging chapters of a document, report, or manuscript. Joining scanned pages that were saved as individual files. Creating a portfolio by combining multiple PDF certificates or work samples. Consolidating forms and attachments into one submission file.
This tool uses pdf-lib, an open-source JavaScript library that can parse, create, and modify PDF documents entirely in the browser. When you click Merge, the tool reads each PDF file into memory, copies all pages from each document in order, and assembles them into a new PDF. The process preserves all formatting, fonts, images, and links from the original documents.
| Scenario | Example | Typical Page Count |
|---|---|---|
| Job Application | Resume + cover letter + references + portfolio | 5–15 pages |
| Client Proposal | Cover page + proposal + pricing + terms + appendix | 10–30 pages |
| Academic Submission | Title page + abstract + thesis + bibliography | 20–100+ pages |
| Tax Filing | Return forms + W-2s + 1099s + receipts | 10–40 pages |
| Project Documentation | Requirements + design + test plans + sign-offs | 15–60 pages |
There is no hard limit, but very large PDFs (over 50 MB each) may be slow to process depending on your device's memory. We recommend merging files under 20 MB each for the best experience.
Internal links within each original PDF are preserved. Cross-document bookmarks and table of contents entries may not carry over, as they reference specific locations within their source document.
Yes — the files are merged in the order they appear in the file list. Drag to reorder them before clicking Merge, or use our Split PDF tool to extract specific pages and then merge them in your desired sequence.
